Never give out personal information that might personally identify you. Never ever give out your telephone number, postal address, email address, who you work for, school name, etc. Not everyone has the best intentions when they ask you for such information. The best thing to do is to never give it out.
You should never agree to meet someone from a chat room in person. If you do, take a friend with you and meet in a public place. Best practice is to NEVER meet anyone from a chat room. You have no way of knowing the intentions behind the person.
If you feel something is not right, or someone is contacting you in a negative way contact any of our moderators or administrators. They are here to help, tell them the situation.
Parents should always monitor their children when they surf online. Place the computer in a public space in the house. Surf online with them and get to know their interests and help them keep safe when they use the computer.
